Twigwams and Roly Polys!

Now the kids have gone back to school, I am finally sitting down to edit a mountain of photos from last week. Here are some shots from the first of two family portrait shoots that were booked in over half term. This shoot had been postponed once due to the weather so we all had our fingers crossed that we would be more lucky second time around and we were....the weather was lovely and sunny and it was dry on the ground.....the perfect combination to get some great photos!

The children were lovely and made great models. Mum was amazing at making sure the kids looked great throughout the shoot...such a help when the wind is sending long hair a bit skewiff! Mum had also chosen fantastic colour co-ordinated clothes for everyone. This is perfect planning and a really important thing to consider if you are having colour photos. The photos look really super duper when everybody is wearing complementary colours-it’s a subtle thing but makes all the difference. The children also had a change of clothing half way through the shoot which I definitely recommend because you will then get more variety in the final images. Take a look at the advice on my website about planning what to wear on a family portrait shoot by clicking this link What to wear.

This was a super fun shoot with tree climbing, twigwams, roly polys as well as a lot of running around and generally using up a lot of energy! One of the great things about having a natural light family portrait shoot is that when you are outdoors you have so much space for the children to run around in.
